Atsou

We operated on the cutest baby this week!  His name is Atsou and he has a cleft palate and cleft lip.  He was super small because he wasn't feeding well, so he was in Jessica's feeding program for two months.  Here he is with his twin when he entered the feeding program:

 His twin is not a giant, Atsou is just very tiny!

 But after two months, they are more the same size.  

And both are super adorable!!!

As all OR nurses know, it can be quite difficult to get surgeons to work…

 At one point, I had six surgeons in my room, and none were working…  

But, I am happy to report, they finally got working, and Atsou looked great at the end of his surgery to fix his cleft lip.  He has to be bigger to have his cleft palate fixed, so that will have to wait for another time… Probably when Mercy Ships comes back to Togo in the future.
