Two weekends ago, some girls from work and myself went on a weekend trip three hours north of Lome. K'Palime is known for its waterfalls, and the best part is that it is situated in the middle of the jungle. It was so relaxing to get off the ship, listen to the birds, relax in nature, and see something green!
Taking a "bus" to K'Palime…
i.e. A van with 10 people and no A/C.
Taking a moto-taxi (zemi-john) up the mountain to our hotel.
Someone told me not to do this, but I can't remember who…
This is my bunkmate Shannon and I am behind her.
A hike to the top of the mountain to watch the Sunset.
Watching the Sunset over Ghana.
The village boys who came to play their drums for us after dinner.
A hike over the mountain and through the jungle to a waterfall.
It was supposed to be a 2 hour hike one direction.
However, the guide's speed and our speed were a bit different,
and we ended up walking (fast) 4 hours to get to the waterfall.
Shannon and I resting at at school in the middle of the hike.
We don't look hot at all, right? :)
Towards the end of the morning hike, looking even more exhausted and hot.
Finally, the beautiful waterfall! Worth it!
